Positive Behaviour For Learning

Toogoolawah State School uses the 'Positive Behaviour for Learning' (PBL) framework to support student behaviour. As a whole school strategy, PBL is positive, proactive and preventative, with the main focus on teaching students the appropriate behaviours in each setting, and then reinforcing those behaviours with a tangible item.

At Toogoolawah State School, that tangible item is known as a Gotcha. Students collect Gotchas and when they have saved enough, they visit the Gotcha Shop and exchange the gotchas for a prize.

To earn a gotcha, students follow our three school-wide expectations:

Our school community will work to achieve our potential by being safe and respectful learners

To view our other strategies for managing behaviour, such as our system for discouraging inappropriate behaviour, please view or download our Responsible Behaviour Plan (2018 - 2020).
